Voice of Justice: Youth Present Policy Documents to High-Level Officials Under International Rights-Based Advocacy Program
The Istanbul Women and Women's Organizations Association (IKADDER) conducted high-level visits in Ankara on May 13–14, 2026, as part of the “Voice of Justice: International Rights-Based Advocacy Program for Youth,” supported by the Directorate General for Relations with Civil Society of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye.
Within the framework of the program, 9 distinct Policy Papers prepared by youth aged 18–35 living in Türkiye with an interest in the civil field were hand-delivered and presented to the relevant public institutions by young representatives.
Intense Diplomacy by Young Advocates in Ankara
The first stop of the Ankara visit, which began on May 13, 2026, was the Directorate General for Relations with Civil Society of the Ministry of Interior. The delegation visited Director General Mehmet Fatih Günay in his office, exchanging views on the progress of the project and the role of youth in the civil sphere.
As part of the visit itinerary, the youth then proceeded to the Ministry of Justice, where they met with Deputy Director General Dr. Ahmet Ulutaş. During the reception, young representatives had the opportunity to present their Policy Papers, which were formulated to offer solutions to human rights violations in crisis regions.
Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT) Visit and Monitoring of the Parliamentary Session
The Ankara program continued with a visit to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT). The young participants watched the Plenary Session live, gaining first-hand experience observing the legislative process on-site.
During the visit, meetings were also held in the offices of AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu and Member of Parliament Rümeysa Kadak. The discussions covered IKADDER’s civil society initiatives, rights-based endeavors, and the core objectives of the "Voice of Justice" project.
About the Voice of Justice Project
The Voice of Justice: International Rights-Based Advocacy Program for Youth aims to enhance the rights-based advocacy knowledge and skills of young individuals aged 18–35 residing in Türkiye, both at national and international levels.
Through this project, young people gain awareness regarding human rights violations in crisis regions, acquiring the capacity to identify, document, and develop concrete policy recommendations to present to authorized bodies.
