ISTANBUL WOMEN AND WOMEN'S ORGANIZATIONS ASSOCIATION (İKADDER) is a civil society organization with an international vision, drawing inspiration from a deep-rooted tradition of volunteerism and solidarity, and working to ensure that women are stronger, more visible, and more active in public life. Placing communication, consultation, and cooperation at its core, our association carries out initiatives aimed at strengthening women's status, promoting social justice, and empowering young women to take active roles in tomorrow's decision-making processes. By bringing together our tradition-rooted values and the needs of the modern era, we develop sustainable projects across a broad spectrum — from education and social policy to advocacy and international representation.

 

While supporting women's active participation in public life, İKADDER also regards the protection and strengthening of the family institution as one of its fundamental priorities. The association believes that women's role within the family — as a guide, a builder of values, and a shaper of generations — forms the foundation of strong societies. With this understanding, our association not only supports women's active engagement in social life, but also contributes to the development of social policies that strengthen the family.

 

İKADDER particularly supports young women in having a voice on national and international platforms, contributing to the development of a new generation of women leaders. The association considers it one of its primary responsibilities to open spaces where young women can express their ideas, take active roles in advocacy activities, and be effectively represented on global issues.

 

Having held Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) since 2018, İKADDER contributes at an international scale in the areas of women's rights, sustainable development, and social solidarity through its work that extends from the local to the universal. Guided by the power of knowledge, experience, and collective wisdom, our association continues its work with determination toward building a future where women are more actively represented in every sphere of life, family structures are strengthened, and social solidarity grows ever stronger.

To enable NGOs to develop communication, consultation, and cooperation models among themselves and with other individuals and organizations, and especially for women's volunteer organizations, to work towards raising the status of women and families.

Starting from our country, we envision a world where sustainable peace, prosperity, and happiness prevail, based on respect for diversity, and where NGOs can solve problems through cooperation and solidarity.
